Environmental noise assessments are highly variable in terms of scale and effort required to address noise issues. While we provide a guide below, every site is different and to get the best value we recommend that you contact us directly for a customised pricing option.
Small sites - typically $2,500.00 to $3,500.00* ex GST
Site Requirements
- Less than 5 site noise sources requiring assessment
- Facility size of approximately 1,000 sqr metres or less
- 1 x attended background noise monitoring for day, evening and night time periods
- 1 x attended measurements at a single (1) noise sensitive receiver during the day, evening and night time periods
- Up to 1 hour consultant site time to measure on-site noise sources
- Determine applicable noise limits
- Conduct analysis to determine the effective noise level
- Compare site noise emissions to noise limits to determine compliance
- Provide in principle recommendations to mitigate site noise emissions
- Preparation of an environmental noise assessment report
- Located within metropolitan Melbourne (locations outside of metro Melbourne will be subject to additional travel fees)
medium sites - typically $3,000.00 to $5,000.00* ex GST
Site Requirements
- Less than 10 site noise sources requiring assessment
- Facility size of approximately 3,000 sqr metres or less
- 1 x attended background noise monitoring for day, evening and night time periods
- 1 x attended measurements at a up to two (2) noise sensitive receiver during the day, evening and night time periods
- 1 to 2 hours consultant time to measure on-site noise sources
- Determine applicable noise limits
- Conduct analysis to determine the effective noise level
- Compare site noise emissions to noise limits to determine compliance
- Provide in principal recommendations with the potential of detailed engineering control specifications to mitigate site noise emissions
- Preparation of an environmental noise assessment report
- Located within metropolitan Melbourne (locations outside of metro Melbourne will be subject to additional travel fees)
large sites - typically $4,500.00 to $10,000.00* ex GST

- Facility size of approximately 10,000 sqr metres or less
- 1 to 2 x unattended background noise monitoring for a 1 week duration to assess day, evening and night time periods
- 1 x attended measurements at a up to four (4) noise sensitive receiver during the day, evening and night time periods
- 4 to 8 hours consultant site time to measure on-site noise sources
- Determine applicable noise limits
- Conduct analysis to determine the effective noise level
- Compare site noise emissions to noise limits to determine compliance
- Develop a computer noise model of the site to predict site noise emission in detail
- Provide in principal recommendations and/or detailed engineering control specifications to mitigate site noise emissions
- Preparation of an environmental noise assessment report
Limitations
- Located within metropolitan Melbourne (locations outside of metro Melbourne will be subject to additional travel fees)
Very Large sites - typically $8,000.00 to $25,000.00 + * ex GST
Site Requirements

- Less than 100 site noise sources requiring assessment
- Facility size of approximately 30,000 sqr metres or less
- 2 to 3 x unattended background monitoring noise for a 1 week period for day, evening and night time periods
- 1 or 2 x attended measurements at a up to six (6) noise sensitive receiver during the day, evening and night time periods
- 16 to 32 hours consultant time to measure on-site noise sources
- Photogrammetry and Lidar scans of the facility and major noise sources
- Determine applicable noise limits
- Conduct analysis to determine the effective noise level
- Compare site noise emissions to noise limits to determine compliance
- Develop a computer noise model of the site to predict site noise emission in detail
- Develop an auralisation predictive sound model
- Provide in principal recommendations and/or detailed engineering control specifications to mitigate site noise emissions
- Develop a Noise Control Programme or Remedial Action Plan to assist in long term noise mitigation strategies
- Preparation of an environmental noise assessment report

* All costs exclude GST. Please note that any additional work outside the scope of the works or if any delays occur due to equipment breakdowns, scheduling errors, etc. it shall be charged at an hourly rate of $190.00 per hour EX. GST between 7am and 7pm, and $285.00 per hour EX. GST between 7pm and 7am. Works for small, medium and large sites typically only include assessment over a single 24 hour period. An allowance of up to 15 minutes for inductions and up to 30 minutes for email and phone conversations with consultants has been allowed for, any additional time will be charged at our hourly rate of $190.00 per hour EX. GST. Refer to our Terms of Engagement for further information before booking an assessment.
